從Vincent Lavenu 身為老羅的隊友以及目前是小羅的隊經理，下面這一段談話真的很妙
“He is actually a lot like his father,” says Vincent Lavenu, Roche’s current manager on the AG2R team. Lavenu knows both Roches well, having ridden as a teammate of Stephen’s on the Fagor team in 1988 and 1989.
“Both Stephen and Nicolas have lots of class, lots of natural talent, but both are fragile too. Yet they are fragile in different ways.
“Stephen could get totally derailed by the smallest problem in his training,” Lavenu recalls. “And Nicolas can sometimes panic in a race and just explode. That’s what happened in the Alps, but that is because he is still young and still learning his limits.”
其實，小羅自己也知道他自己的問題不在爬坡，而是計時賽能力(很不幸的，法國車隊的計時賽能力一直很囧)
Roche estimates that it his time trialing, not climbing, that could be his biggest hurdle to becoming a top Tour de France rider.
