雖然不像些超新星散發出霸氣，不過他很孜孜矻矻得表現，掙得WorldTour 車隊的合同
他自己表示：It's a tough one because I'm not a pure climber by any stretch of the imagination but I can climb just fine. And I'm not a pure sprinter but bring me to the finish of a sprint with good legs and I can sprint just fine - I think I can do a lot of different races which is a good thing. I can get through grand tours; I can get through some of the big, hillier races. I think this first year both for myself and the team is just going to be a learning experience.

5. 為了因應2012 賽季結束不少人會離隊，Team Sky 簽下美帝超新星Joe Dombrowski & Ian Boswell
這兩隻幼獅從Bontrager-Livestrong 崛起，今年在歐陸以及美國都表現搶眼
Dombrowski 贏了Baby Giro 而且在Tour of California 爬Mount Baldy 單站拿下第四，另外Tour of Utah 以及USA Pro Challenge 也都跑進GC10......他自己表示：It’s exciting and I’m looking forward to spending the next couple of years at Team Sky. I chose the team because it is the best programme in the world right now and I’m looking forward to having this great opportunity to learn.
Boswell 則是包下了Tour of Utah 前五以及U23 Liège-Bastogne-Liège 第二。另外他賽季尾聲還成為Argos Shimano 的實習生(stagiaire，法文)，去跑Tour de l’Avenir 也拿下前五的佳績......他表示：I’m really excited to be joining Team Sky. It’s like signing for the Yankees in baseball. It’s the best team in the world. Team Sky have the best equipment, best riders, best staff, and the best organisation. To be a part of a team like this in my first professional season is an honour. I tend to be a climber or a GC rider, which is a good role to have on this team. There are a lot of older riders who are similar to me in that respect, and I want to learn as much as I can from them. I’m excited to work with this team and I want to progress and develop with them.
Bontrager-Livestrong race coach--Bobby Julich 於這個結果感到欣慰：Bontrager-Livestrong - and especially USA Cycling - have done a great job developing these guys into the riders they are today and we want to continue that hard work now to ensure they reach their full potential in the future. Ian and Joe are two of the most talented under-23 riders in the world and we will offer them the best possible race and training programmes to aid their progression. We see this as a long-term project at Team Sky and it’ll be exciting for everyone involved. We must be doing something right if they’ve chosen to sign for us over the American teams. I followed a similar path during my racing career, went through a lot of the same things they are going through at the moment, and I think we can help them a lot.
